Qimir's Lightsaber
Who is Qimir?
Known as "the Stranger" due to his self-proclaimed namelessness, Qimir was a male Sith who was Force-sensitive and active during the High Republic Era. After serving under Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh as a Padawan, he was eventually kicked out of the Jedi Order.
After being kicked out, Darth Plagueis trained him as a Sith, and he began looking for his Acolyte. He found Mae-ho "Mae" Aniseya and trained her as his apprentice after killing a coven of witches on Brendok. She knew him only as "the Master," and he never gave her his name or face during her training.
Under the guise of "Qimir," a veteran armaments smuggler for the Hutt Clan, the Master assigned Mae the mission of killing a Jedi without a weapon. While surreptitiously keeping tabs on her development, he gave her the information and tools she needed to vanquish her adversaries.
But when Mae found out that her twin sister, Verosha "Osha" Aniseya, was still alive in 132 BBY, she made the decision to betray the Master and surrender to the Jedi in order to be reunited with her sister. The majority of the Jedi investigation team dispatched to Khofar, including self-exiled Jedi Master Kelnacca, were killed when the Master revealed himself as a result of his targeting of Mae.
The Stranger took Osha and became determined to train her in her place, even though he was unable to murder Mae. When Osha learned that her mother and coven had been murdered by her old Jedi master, Master Sol, she killed Sol and turned to the evil side of the Force. She accepted the Sith's offer of training in return for wiping out Mae's memories and letting her survive.
The red lightsaber Qimir was wielding was capable of splitting into two independent lightsabers, one of which was shoto.
How Does Qimir's Lightsaber Work?
There is very little information regarding the Sith Master's lightsaber in the Star Wars canon. The Acolyte TV series is the only source of information that is currently known regarding Qimir's lightsaber. We do, however, comprehend the fundamentals. His lightsaber hilt was developed with a removable handgrip by the Sith Master, also referred to as Qimir or The Stranger. When taken apart, this part can be used as a lightsaber the size of a dagger. With the help of this ability, the Sith Master can surprise his opponents by changing up his fighting strategy at random.
Well, how does that operate? The Sith Master's weapon's operation can be inferred from basic lightsaber lore, even in the absence of blueprints. A cyber crystal, an emitter, a power cell, and a focusing lens are necessary for all lightsabers. Thus, the Sith Master's saber has two complete sets of these parts: one for the mini-hilt and one for the main hilt. Its small power cell might not be enough to produce a full-sized blade, which is probably why the second saber is more miniature.
Are There Any Lightsabers Like Qimir's in Star Wars Canon?
No, however, the Sith Master's weapon is comparable to a number of lightsabers from the current and "Legends" canon of Star Wars. As an example, Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber is really a combination of two single sabers. The less-damaged half of Maul's saber remains functional when Obi-Wan Kenobi cuts it in half in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. This is comparable to The Acolyte's depiction of the Sith Master's lightsaber shattering, but both parts are still functioning.
The Acolyte is not the first Shoto lightsaber. The lightsaber that Master Yoda uses in the Star Wars prequels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, for instance, is technically a photo because the small Jedi would find it difficult to hold a regular saber. Furthermore, Ahsoka Tano employs a shoto as an off-hand weapon in her Jar' Kai fighting style, akin to the Sith Master, in The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka.
